New Hotels in Trivandrum
First Hilton of Kerala and also city's first sports-bar, along with 250 new business class rooms.
Come November, Trivandrum will have two new Five-star hotels, one in Aristo area and the other near Cantonment gate of Secretariat - The Arya Nivas group's Hyacinth is going to be managed by Aloft, a Le Meredien brand and has 104 rooms, two suites, roof-top pool, a restaurant, a coffee shop and will have no bar. The hotel was planned as a five-star vegetarian offering, but due to business projections, got non-veg served. There is a lawn for parties and a 120-car garage. - Muthoot Pappachan Group's Hilton Garden Inn has 135 rooms, 12 suites, 24 hour coffee shop and a sports-bar. The existing roof-top restaurant, second-floor swimming pool and 100 car basement garage round up the facilities. - The two hotels will correct a major need of Trivandrum, having good convention facilities. Hilton will have a 600 seater convention center and Hyacinth will have a 300 seater one. This is in addition to smaller business centers and conference rooms - The report wrongly refers Hyacinth (a lovely spike like flower) as the weed (and Kerala's bane) Water Hyacinth (kulavazha).
